CE Leadership Authors Article in Global Health Publication

Community Empowerment Board President Stephanie Crane published “The Architecture of Decolonial Partnerships in University Global Health Program Development” in the Annals of Global Health with contributions from Alfredo Hernandez Moralez, former executive director of CE, Wendys Filpo Diaz, director of clinical teams, Babs Waldman, board vice president/treasurer, David Ansell, board member at large, Ernhis Montero Hernandez, executive director in the Dominican Republic, Jessica Vlaming, executive director in the United States/Global and more. The article explores the processes and best practices for initiating and growing university global health programs in high-income countries through partnerships in low- and middle-income countries. Specifically, the authors describe the creation of the Office of Global Health at Rush University in conjunction with the inception and development of Community Empowerment in the Dominican Republic, including the successes, opportunities and learnings that followed.
