Clinic Construction in Villa Verde

The construction of the Villa Verde clinic is being celebrated by all the members of the community! This project is the culmination of two years of investment in a committed relationship with the community leaders based on three guiding principles: honesty, respect and mutual accountability.

Last month, 13 volunteers began laying the concrete foundation and setting rebar in order to meet their goal of completion by Spring. The volunteers are organized by Movimiento Comunicacion Unido por Villa Verde, a nonprofit created by the community who works in partnership with CE. This partnership is a crowning achievement because all sectors of the community are being represented.

The new clinic is much more than a physical space for wellness; it also means government recognition and aid. The Ministry of Health has agreed to provide full-time healthcare workers and medical supplies upon completion, which is the most important step in creating a sustainable healthcare system in the community.
